  9 مئی کے واقعات سے میرا کوئی تعلق نہیں، شیخ رشید احمد اداروں کا ہمیشہ احترام کیا ہے،زندہ رہا تو الیکشن ضرور لڑوں گا، سربراہ عوامی مسلم لیگ کی صحافیوں سے گفتگو راولپنڈی (اُردو پوائنٹ اخبارتازہ ترین۔ 09 دسمبر2023ء)  سابق وزیر داخلہ شیخ رشید احمد نے کہا ہے کہ 9 مئی کے واقعات سے  میرا  کوئی تعلق نہیں۔ 8 مئی سے 16 مئی تک یہاں نہیں تھا، زندہ رہا تو  الیکشن  ضرور لڑوں گا۔ انسدادِ دہشتِ گردی کی  عدالت  کے باہرصحافیوں سےگفتگو کرتے ہوئے  شیخ رشید  نے کہا کہ اداروں کا ہمیشہ احترام کیا ہے، انہوں نے کہا کہ  این اے 56  اور 57 سے  الیکشن  قلم دوات کے نشان پر لڑوں گا۔ انسدادِ دہشت گردی کی  عدالت  نے سربراہ عوامی مسلم لیگ شیخ رشید اور ان کے بھتیجے شیخ راشد شفیق کی عبوری ضمانتوں میں 4 جنوری تک توسیع کر دی۔ علاوہ ازیں شیخ رشید کا کہنا ہے کہ اگست 2023 میں  پنجاب  حکومت نے بتایا تھا کہ شیخ رشید کے خلاف کوئی کیس نہیں۔ بچپن سے یہ سوچ ہے سب کو ساتھ لے کر چلتا ہوں۔ اداروں کا احترام سب پر لازم ہے۔ ہم نے پنڈی کے دونوں حلقوں میں کام کیا ہے، چلے کے بعد کوئی ٹویٹ بھی نہیں،  الیکشن  نہیں ہوئے تو پرانی تنخواہ پر ہی
